Alterations, Mending & Sewing

Bear Memories is now offering other sewing services! Bear memories specializes in alternations of wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses and assorted formal wear. Take the stress out of your wedding day by setting up an appointment for your entire wedding party to have dresses custom fitted for your big day. No alternation is to big or small!

Formal wear items require a 3-week time frame for alteration work and second fitting prior to pick-up/event date. Minimum start fee for alterations begin at $25 and prices will vary with the amount and difficulty of alterations needed. All formal wear hems begin at $15 with an extra charge for more than 2 layer linings.

Bear Memories also does zipper replacement in jackets, pants, coveralls and all other zippered apparel. Zipper replacement costs begin at $12 for jeans and $15 for jackets/coats. All zipper fees subject to change with zipper length and zipper weights.

Also being offered are daily mending, repairs and hemming, etc. Hemming of all pants/slacks are $6-$8 per pair. Jeans/denim items will be hemmed retaining the original hem of the garment unless otherwise stated at the time of drop off. Mending and patching is subject to a flat fee $10 per garment for an average repair; larger repairs will require extra charges. Bear Memories also replaces buttons, custom work on non-clothing items and miscellaneous sewing. No sewing project is too big or small! This beautiful bridesmaid gown was accidentally ordered several sizes too big. Along with bodice alterations and hemming this dress was taken in over 5 sizes to fit this beautiful lady perfectly.

This beautiful group of ladies all needed alterations in bust and length. And the adorable miniature bride had several alterations as well as the added pink sash.

This beautiful bride came to me with a project of taking the zipper out of the back of her dress and adding a corset back. The lace-up back had 24 loops with a satin gusset. This dress was then shortened to a perfect length.
